Trump and the US Postal Service
If you’re worried about the recent accusations about Trump cutting the post office, because you haven’t yet figured out we now live in a world of guilt by accusation (because people like you believe it), don’t feel too bad. Some of you still trust journalism, sad but I understand. However, we no longer live in an era where those seeking political power can win by the sword. Today they win by the pen. And as such, those types who were drawn to wielding a sword to win by any means in the past still exist. It’s they now wield the pen to win.
The politicizing of the USPS is yet another false narrative pushed
by the left media that has no bearing. The only way that cutting the post office to delay
ballots would help Trump win is if only those voting Democrat will vote by
mail. If you believe that I have some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell
you. Delaying ballots hurts all parties. Or maybe you believe Trump won’t leave
even if he loses, yet another false narrative, and this is something toward
that end. If so, I feel sorry for you.
But that’s not the stupid part. The stupid part is that the President
no longer appoints the postmaster general. The board of governors does, but
because of how the new postmaster general votes, the new false narrative is Trump
is politicizing the USPS. It’s sheer bullshit. It has nothing to do with
anything other than adding to the fabricated narratives against Trump to win. The lawsuits are a nice touch - chalked off as campaign costs. The
more they can fabricate the better. Why not regurgitate the alleged sexual harassment
or Russiagate? Well because they milked
those as much as they could, and they didn’t work because they too are
bullshit. The latter (Russiagate) is so clearly documented false that you still believing it puts you in
the category of those who believe the earth is flat or walking under a ladder
gives you bad luck.
Trump rightfully used his executive powers to force the federal government to find ways to balance its budget. The previous postmaster general didn’t do that. Trump pressured all agencies including the USPS. Incidentally, the USPS gets its funding from ratepayers not taxpayers. The previous postmaster general didn't take action to balance the budget and she finally got sick of the pressure and announced her retirement back in October.
The two main changes proposed are to force those at retirement age to retire. This is standard practice when an organization in the red is attempting to balance its budget. The USPS has been in the red for a long time. The second is cutting Saturday delivery, which really only hurts the politicians relying on mail. The supposed elderly and disabled not getting visited on Saturday are also bullshit. The Carrier Alert Program does more in that regard than merely delivering mail, especially since mail is not delivered in person anymore and rural mailboxes aren’t even near the house. Oh, and most USPS consumers are okay with it, despite the lies to the contrary.
The sad thing about all of this is that very little from the
left media can be trusted. So, if the lawsuits being brought don’t go anywhere (which they won't),
the left media won’t just tell you that. They’ll instead blame Trump’s influence
or corruption somehow. Since people watching them don’t vet anything (finding other sources saying the same thing isn't vetting), and they believe
all their narratives, the new narrative will work. They should study the art and the science of persuasion and attitude inoculation, but suggesting such would be fruitless.
Next month is the last month of the current government fiscal
year. They have to turn in a budget before it’s over, and a big part of that is
the pre-funding of retiree healthcare. Proposed changes all work to this end.
